Music lessons with Brianna

- guitar - ukulele - voice - songwriting - piano - mandolin - banjo - music theory -

I’m now teaching two days a week - Mondays and Tuesdays at Blue Tree Music Education . My schedule is pretty packed but if you’re hoping to take lessons with me the folks at Blue Tree can help you out. Contact them directly at info@bluetreemusiceducation.com

I also offer one-off lessons on Zoom. If you’re stuck on a song or technique book 30-60 minutes with me and we’ll work through the challenge. Perhaps you are preparing for an audition or just want a professional’s opinion on your new original song. Maybe you’re not sure if lessons are right for you but you want to give it a shot before committing to a weekly schedule. I’m here for you - drop me a line at briannalaneteachesmusic@gmail.com Thank you!

30 Minute lesson

Most students choose this option.

Mondays and Tuesdays at Blue Tree Music Education in South Minneapolis. Schedule directly with Blue Tree by calling or emailing the school.

30 minute lessons once a week is a good way to keep up with your skills!

60 minute lesson

A one-off 60 minute lesson is perfect to get the needed feedback to push past that plateau or prepare for an audition or song contest.

60 minute lessons every other week is a good pattern for busy adults.

Songwriting session

Songwriting sessions are one-on-one feedback on songs you’ve written! I will also give you a songwriting activity or a prompt at the end of each session. We will focus on songwriting skills and personal songwriting goals. We could meet on Zoom or in person.

RATES …

Blue Tree Music Education sets their own rates. See Blue Tree membership details! I am not in control of their pricing. They offer fair rates and they pay their teachers well. I’m really grateful to be a part of such an awesome music school.

If you are scheduling a one-off lesson with me by Zoom, I offer sliding scale fees - no questions asked. At least for the next few months all students are able to choose their own lesson rates starting at $20 for a 1/2 hour session.

My rates have been $30 for 1/2 hour and $60 for an hour for the past 7 years. $30 per 1/2 hour is what I would like to maintain as my average income. If you choose to pay over $30 know that you are helping another student pay for their lessons and helping me stay afloat. Consider paying under $30 if you are at or below the poverty line, in the lower middle class, or have financial challenges. Seriously, no questions asked. However, if you have questions, please let me know! briannalaneteachesmusic@gmail.com

ABOUT ME …

I have been teaching individual and group lessons for about 15 years. I have a BA in Elementary Education and I mostly teach children but I enjoy teaching folks of all ages. I started teaching in 2007 as a way to make a little extra income between touring the country as a solo singer/songwriter. I quickly fell in LOVE with teaching lessons! At Twin Town Guitars I had a full roster of students and taught group ukulele classes for adults, established “U is for Uke” (parent and child learning together), and hosted kid open-mics. I took a short break from teaching in 2015 in order to open The Warming House - a non-profit listen room for mostly acoustic music. I returned to teaching in 2016, teaching from The Warming House and began teaching online in early 2020. In January of 2022 I joined the Blue Tree roster of instructors! My teaching style is to have fun with music and my goal is to feed your love for playing music! I like using songs to teach techniques and a little music theory. Students are always welcome to bring songs that they like to lessons in order to learn them or get better at them. Bring me your pop, folk, rock, Americana, jazz, blues… I can teach from tab, charts, notation, or by ear - in fact, I like using all of these methods for everyone. Another goal of mine is to meet everyone where they are and help them reach their goals - whether that’s strumming along to your favorite song, or playing a show with all original tunes, or somewhere in between! I look forward to meeting you.

If you have any questions please email me at briannalaneteachesmusic@gmail.com THANK YOU!
