Prayer to Saint Jude

by Brianna Lane (June 2005)

She prayed save him from Midwestern girls
Thick skin, sweet grin, anime eyes
He’s to week for one weekend away from her

Moonlight is falling his whiskey is calling
Hands push through Iowa air
His voice cuts deeply convincing ever lady that he cares

Now she prays
Mother Mary tell him that I care
Saint Jude tell him that I’m scared

She prays, save me from his wicked ways
Sins of flesh and bone
She is planning her great escape alone

Now she prays
Mother Mary tell him that I care
Saint Jude tell him that I’m scared

She prays the rosary completely by memory
Falls down to her knees and begs for bravery

Razor sharp blood from the heart
Stains the porcelain floor
When he returns he won’t have to love her anymore

Mother Mary tell him that I care
Saint Jude tell him that I’m scared
Saint Jude tell him that I cared

Now he prays, save me from Midwestern girls
Thick skin, sweet grin, anime eyes
